For Drowning Prevention Week (DPW) 2025, the team at 2Pool 4School have created a fun, engaging and informative 30-minute assembly to meet the survival needs of KS1, and KS2 pupils.
Our assembly includes 38 high-quality slides that are easy for staff to follow and deliver with confidence.
The assembly’s objectives include:
- How to recognise places where it is and isn’t safe to swim.
- What to do if you fall into water unexpectedly.
- How to signal for help.
Our assembly has been thoughtfully designed to be accessible for all learners.
For example, we’ve used Comic Neue – a dyslexia-friendly font – to support readability for all pupils. If your school does not already have Comic Neue installed and you’d like to preserve the original formatting of our PowerPoint, you can download the font for free via the following link: https://fonts.google.com/selection.
In addition, any featured videos are closed captioned. All song lyrics and clear visuals have now been successfully added to our easy-to-follow PowerPoint slides.
This assembly is a valuable opportunity for pupils to gain essential water safety knowledge in a format that’s both engaging and educational.
